Just finishing up a 2 week trip with Scarab Egypt tours and it has been fantastic. The level of service and flexibility have been amazing and have allowed us to tailor the trip to what we were after with no fuss. All the Scarab Tours team and the guides we have had throughout the trip have been extremely friendly, helpful and really informative. They have really helped bring to life the subtleties and history of sites throughout Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. My Mother and I just used scarab Egypt. I tried to research tours online but found a lack of information when it comes to the Middle East. One of the companies I came across was scarab Egypt. I wasn't sure what to expect especially with the prices listed being so low. I tried also going to travel agents but found most of the tours VERY expensive. I decided to book scarab Egypt and worst case scenario book another tour when we got to Cairo if things fell through. Let me tell you, it was a good thing we had someone to pick us up. I have traveled all over Europe and Asia but Egypt is a different story. Michael was there on time, transferred us to the hotel. He went over the tour we chose and put us at ease. We had originally booked the south and north but after finding out that you sleep in the open air on the felucca boat and there is no bathroom we decided it wasn't a good idea for my mom lol. They changed a few reservations and we were good to go. It's a good thing we got a tour also because the distances between sights are great and you will probably end up paying the same amount to get around in taxis and have a lot more stress too. The tour guides were all friendly and all the tours worked like clockwork. Since we went during the off season, most of the time we were the only ones on the tour so it was like having our own private tour the whole day and amazing end in Dahab. The tours are totally customizable as you please. You can decide to stay longer or shorter somewhere. One piece of advice for Egypt is to carry an ATM or cash! No one takes credit cards in Egypt, not even for the tours. Anyway, we had a great time on our trip and couldn't have hoped for better! - paulsaimon

My husband and I have just returned from a three week tour organised by Wassim Karrara of Scarab Tours in Cairo. We went from Cairo to Aswan, cruised on the Nile to Luxor, flew to Sharm El Sheik then spent time in Dahab, Jordan and to Israel for a day trip before returning to Cairo.
In each area we had a different tour guide and all of them were very pleasant and spoke very good english. Pleased to say we always felt safe with our drivers (unlike in some of the taxis we hired).
We were happy with our hotels which were three star and all in good areas for wandering at all hours of the day and night. Our river boat on the Nile was pretty special. Scarab Tours organised everything including hotels, guides, drivers, transfers, visas etc and everything worked really well for us. Leah (a Canadian) of Scarab Tours was very helpful in Cairo.
Mohamed Jordan of Dyarna Safari Dahab organised our trips around the Sinai and to Jordan and Israel. These were also excellent value for money and his English excellent (as would be expected from someone married to an Aussie). - aussie3

Having just returned from an awe inspiring tour of Egypt with two awesome guides, I am impressed. They went out of their way to accommodate our wishes even if it meant changing what was originally planned. They quickly caught on to our style of visit and were there for us every step of the way. If I return to Egypt, I would definitely use this tour company. At times, we asked for places to meditate where it was not really acceptable, and they, as guides, did what they could to help us out.
